Wouldn't it be great if you could access some Blender Cloud content directly from within Blender? Now you can! In the following video, Sybren demonstrates how to use the new Blender Cloud Texture Library add-on!
Download the Zip Bundle, then install and activate the Blender ID and Blender Cloud add-ons. The Blender Cloud add-on is still in testing, so make sure you enable the testing filter to see it in the list.
In order to browse the texture library, you need to log in via the Blender ID add-on. The Blender ID add-on allows you to connect your Blender with your Blender ID account. If you don't have an account, you can get one for free here.
That's it! If you have a Blender Cloud subscription, you can press Ctrl+Alt+Shift+A and you'll be able to browse the Blender Cloud Texture Library.
We hope that you will find the content of the Blender Cloud Texture Library useful! Of course we understand that it would be even better if you could upload your own private collection of textures. We are working on it right now.
Hi. I can't preview texture files in browser. Does anyone know that why happen ?
Version 2.92
so we will be able to upload our own collections and download other users collections? thatd be great. I just signed up and it seems like there needs to be more options im just figuring it out but id def like to see a way to download more of them or something
cloud link and sync in 2.79 but not 2.78link to the zip bundle isn't working. I can use
Can't get the Blender ID Authentication working with 2.8.
Hi guys. Any progress on updating the Blender Cloud ID addon to 2.8?
@David Storey Hi David, we've been using the Blender Cloud add-on in 2.8 for months now! Just get the latest from the usual place https://cloud.blender.org/services
I was looking forward to using this, but it's unusable for me right now. I can't read the text in the asset browser, it's too tiny. Dragged a window from my main (high dpi) monitor to the old one. Of course the entire interface looked oversized, except the sset browser. Weirdly, still too small (though slighty larger). I'm on Mint 17.3 + KDE right now, dumping it for new Ubuntu18 with whatever is standard there, soon. Hope that fixes it.
@roelant.rijs: Yes, unfortunately the current implementation does not support adjustable dpi like the rest of Blender's interface. This issue will be addressed during the development of the asset browsers in the upcoming Blender 2.8.
@Sybren A. Stüvel: If you say so... you're the programmer. :P Didn't want to mess things up anywhere else, I was just glad this worked!
@Sybren A. Stüvel: I still need to get used to all this editabitliy :) Line 221: blf.size(font_id, self.text_size + 20, text_dpi) I just added the + 20 and it looks fine. Succes!
@Sybren A. Stüvel: Turns out I was already using that version, so, no luck :( I'm eagerly awaiting Blender 2.8, and by the time you're in beta I'll do some tests to see if the problem's been fixed at my end.
@roelant.rijs: Thanks a lot guys, going to check it out as soon as I'm in front of my own screen.
This is really cool! Thanks, guys!
The addon fails on my system with th efollowing error:

Any idea? (I'm testing it at home on my laptop which runs an Intel HD5500 on Linux...)
:-( I am loged in, but I got an error: First "Checking login credentials" stay long on screen. Then: "An error occurred: [Erno 13] Permission denied" :-( Whats wrong? (my firewall is down, thats not the problem)
@Dr. Sybren: I have now tried as an administrator. But it did not help. Need my email address?
This is really cool, thanks!
Hey guys, great addon, I have a bug/question/featurerequest/ i don't know which one: but it's basically that when internet connection is not all that fast, the addon should give you a percentage bar in the header while letting you continue working because right now it freezes your blender and to me it has taken sometimes up to 20 - 30 seconds to download an image, also maybe a download queue could be nice, if i can pick a texture while that downloads i can pick an other one, and an other one and so forth.
@Luciano Muñoz: Hey Luciano! Those aren't bug reports, but just great ideas. We'll come back to this in the upcoming Blender Institute podcast too. In short: some of those features might be implemented in a further future, but I think downloading a texture in the background should be implementable quite quickly.
@Luciano Muñoz: thats a great idea. I wonder if they get to large, or the user is away from high bandwidth internet, you could use a scaled proxy version until it can be replaced?
Hi Just wan't to say.....It work's Very Very Well....So clean browser design...I like the size in the Browser too..:) The auto get Bump map - if it is there is pretty Cool....Clap Clap The Speed and ease to use is great great.
Is it Asset Flinger in the Clouds.....?
Good work all...Cheers
Tai
@Sybren Stüvel: yes i was just commenting about that, thank you very much man, really great solutions and feedback
amazing guys!!
you guys are on a spree! this will be really handy
Trying this out these last days and it works super smooth. While I was trying I also came up with some ideas/feature request.
While I am texture painting or sculpting i use texture brushes(under the texture tab) and it would be nice to be able to download specific brush texture directly there and maybe have some ready customized brushes with metadata that changes settings.
For example there is a spray brush, where the brush texture is dots and the stroke has jitter at 0.7
just an idea:)
