seems like a great video. but it's 6 years old and the layout is different. Blender studio should update with more current tutorials.

I sorted it out by adding a "Reference image" in 3.x after switching to a specific perspective (i.e Front, or Side)
Example: numpad 1 -> Shift+A (choose image > reference).
In the image properties, choose Show in: Ortographic, Only Axis Aligned.
Repeat it after switching to side perspective (i.e numpad 3) and you will be able to align images and start modelling.
Most of what's left is similar to 2.x version - I hope it helps.
Cheers!

Hello Dillon Gu, are you using any Addons? When i press N, i dont have a that complex menue with all this functions. In fact my menue just shows options for View, 3D Cursor, Collections and Annotations. Im using Blender 2.9.1 and i dont know how to insert this image.

Am I the only one who finds this artist incredibly easy to follow and understand. I snooze off when watching Blender tutorials elsewhere but this guy has a very natural and interesting way of presenting concepts.
