Weekly time! We still have weeklies on Friday at the Blender Institute, and the team keeps displaying great progress, which is then uploaded here on the cloud on Monday. We hope you are enjoying this continuous streaming of artwork and we hope you are as excited as we are to see that the film starts coming together.
On top of that, I'm going to try and collect the best of the best for a summary blogpost.
Andy has been working on developing the interior of the barbershop set, adding and tweaking many picture frames on the wall and did some lighting test.
Then he started assembling the outdoor set, based on some groundwork by Pablo. Initial renders are coming soon!
Kjartan has done some style research on the original comics, producing some pictures that capture the essence of color and composition in the original Agent 327 stories.
He also did some tests with the barbershop interior, developing a less "crowded" wall.
Pablo started his week exploring the outdoor set, finding the right Amsterdam skyline, that combined with right lighting, would to set the mood in the opening act.
After passing the set to Andy, he did a lighting test of the Barbershop interior. You might have noticed that the team is spending quite some time on that barbershop picture.
The reason for it is that it's one of the "master" lighting shot and in particular:
Hjalti and Nathan have been working on more animation, with Hjalti dealing with rig problems (solved by Juan Pablo) on the side. Colin is finalizing most of the layout, and doing initial research for the set in the final part of the animation -spoiler alert!-.
See you next week!
