Hello Instituties!
a) Do Hjalti and other animators ever do rough 2D animated sketches to test out ideas before proceeding with 3D? Not just working from storyboards but sketching and timing out keys, extremes and maybe even breakdowns.
b) Do any of you make or enjoy abstract or non-figurative animation? If so, who are your favourite animators in that area? Do you think the Institute will ever make an abstract or non-figurative short?
c) Did anyone see the Asterix movie yet? :)
Great program as always :)
Pablo I'm spanish so it's Juan Gea, as it's read jejeje
Let me repeat the last question I did, I think I did it after you already recorded the podcast, or maybe it is not a good question for the podcast, ignore it if it's not, anyways here is the question: how did you do the compositing of all the 3d elements over the real footage if there is no shadow catcher shader in Cycles?
I did some shadow catcher study compairing it to my other render engine (Corona) and using the current shadow catcher as it is right now (patch D1788) and it is not working correctly, so I wonder how did you manage to mix all the 3D with the real life footage.
P.S.: If there is an specific tutorial talkign about this please just point me to it and I'll be happy :)
The difference between animation and just motion, is that animation implies Emotion, creating a believable character, that's where you have a difference with motion graphics, as a technique motion graphics is a part of animation, it can include all of the principles, but there is no character with no emotion.
did you guys watch "THE BEAR STORY"... oscar winner?... comment!
yes yes yes! we have to go to annecy!
oh god, that animation feels so old, did bassam animate that back then?
