Blender development updates, 3D printing talk, VR, Agent 327, Blender Cloud news, living in Amsterdam and much more in episode 25 of the Blender Institute Podcast!
In this podcast: Hjalti, Francesco, Andy, Pablo Music: Blabetté de Metz (Psy-Jazz Mix) - (cc-by-nc) keytronic
I see that "Art of Blender Vol 1" surfaced again. Will there be a Vol 2 any time in the future?
@Serj Maiorov: I guess they're getting rid of the leftover copies of the first one to get to do the second one, since there is so much more amazing work that has come out since the first one!
One last question, you guys are going to annecy, I'm going too! (but i just received confirmation today), do you have where to stay?, i'm looking for a place to share, if you guys know anyone on that same road or you guys have a spare piece of floor that are willing to share I'd be happy to join you guys and help ya out aswel with BF stuff =)
Oh I got a question for Hjalti, I'm loving to get a glimpse of his workflow on the "Posing the Victor Rig" tutorial. But what I'm really really wondering, if he's ever going to do a tutorial or at least a breakdown of the Min and Max mouth rig he did for glasshalf, I find it very cool, fast and flexible rig but as much as I've gone through the rig I still haven't been able to figure out, and it's a fantastic cartoony mouth rig that I'm sure will be very useful to learn about!
Hey guys, for Annecy, all audience can access your stand or MIFA accreditation is needed ?
Thanks. Keep your amazing work :)
You talked about community contributions for textures. I understand that the Blender Institute (?) must curate them for licensing, is there a submission page on the Cloud? What types of images might you be interested in (classifications)? How should they be processed for you, could there be delivery levels? Like : basic camera RAW, corrected RAW, tileable lightly compressed, high quality heavily compressed etc. What dimensions/file sizes would be suitable?
There are some great character and texture assets on the Blender Cloud now, thank you. Do you think that you could also put up any motion graphic kind of animated assets? Like moving text, design elements or customizable backgrounds etc?
Think i keep miss hearing the name of the company and 3D printer model you are getting, Please spell it out here for me :P thank you, stuggling to google it.
@Andy Goralczyk: looks great, i actually would love to get one sooner than later!
you help me while I work on blender. can you do a daily podcast? :P
Buy the 3d printer Print the 3d printer Return the 3d printer :D
Love the podcasts, and am obsessed lately with new developments in Blender. There are so many awesome features getting added all the time, so it's great that you started covering the developer meetings and other new features in the podcast. It's interesting to hear the thoughts of experienced users like yourselves on the new features like B-Bones.
Anyway, I have a question! Why did you guys decide to remake the Agent character model when you already had the one used in the teaser animation? Andy's new model is looking great, but I don't recall the old one looking bad - were there some problems with it?
Great guys, it was super fun to hear you guys ramble about living in Amsterdam, and all the other stuff Francesco, don't feel bad about not learning dutch, you're Italian, it's an accomplishment that your English is not only well spoken but understandable as well (i hope you take it as a joke). Great that you guys have settled in, I remember visiting in 2010 for Bconf, and it did feel like a small town, and the bicycle culture was indeed fantastic, I try to do that in Santiago here every day, and every day I'm fighting for my life literally!
@Luciano Muñoz: Yes, I enjoyed that part of the podcast too. Would love to attend bconf this year and enjoy Amsterdam. I live in Kyoto, which although it doesn't have a very regimented bicycle culture, everybody rides bikes, and the city is surrounded by mountains and forests, so nature is close here too. Some things Amsterdam is well known for are very illegal here though :(
guys, you're amazing xD
Good old Liquify tool :D
