I would like to interest my employer in supporting or at least making Blender available in house as the recommended 3D tool. Currently there is no established 3D application as we don't generate much 3D content at the moment. But I am sure they will expect me to purchase a commercial product instead. This seems to be motivated by some notion that these are easier to use. What would be the key benefits of Blender over commercial 3D applications? I have no experience of them so I don't know how to compare.
What kind of subscription can businesses sign up for and what would they get for their money, given that the application is already free? Remembering that I am trying to convince someone of its value beyond a warm sense of community spirit ;-)
Hello I like to listen to your podcast on my commute. My podcatcher reads the RSS feed and downloads new episode as soon as they are listed. HOWEWER: The RSS feed (http://podcast.blender.institute/feed.xml) always lags a bit behind the release at Soundcloud. It lags behind a few days at the moment. Is there a more recent feed i can subscribe to? Thank you for the podcast and enjoy your time in France. Roman
@Roman Hegglin: yes I find this as well. Mine can be a several days late.
@Roman Hegglin: It works again, Thank you Blendercloud!
Hello! Question: what do you guys think about PBR shaders? Do you recomend using them in some situations? Do you use them? As always, thanks a lot for what you are doing, you are awesome! Cheers, Nicolas.
PS: the cloud texture addon is great! Save Sybren!
I'm actually a happy Windows10 User! (Not being a developer that's easy to say i guess). Get the ShutUp10 Tool which helps you get your privacy settings all set so microsoft wont get your usage-statistics with 1 click and you're good to go. Interface is neat, works fine (for me) and the transition was supersmooth (everything exactly where i left it in 7 and every software still working).
Yes, Dr. Sergey should join twitter! ;)
