Hi guys, thanks for the entertaining and informative podcasts!

I have 2 questions:

What would it involve to have an option in preferences to set Y as up instead of Z?

and..

I've seen some hard to believe real time demos of fluid sims on Youtube from Nvidia, most recently Nvidia FleX. There was mention a podcast or so back of hardware devs being loaned to Blender.

SO... What are the chances of seeing this stuff flowering in Blender? Sims are insanely slow right now, real time fluids would be insanely sweet.

???

@jancdw: I wasn't in the podcast, but I could hear the guys talking about this.

Y=up would be very hard to implement, as there are so many places in which Z=up is hardcoded, from the construction of rotation matrices to the inner workings of add-ons. It's much easier to handle just on importing/exporting files that expect Y=up.

In my opinion Z=up is also more natural for 3D environments. If you want to know my motivation for that statement, check out section 2.1 of my Ph.D. thesis ;-)

@sybren: Thanks for the note.

I worked in Max which is Z up then got accustomed to Maya which is Y. It's one of those things that become automatic: green=Y=up, and in fact that's the way is is in Blender's bones, so I find I'm always having to stop for a beat to check for the axis I want.

Just one of those little things. So much in Blender I really appreciate :-)

Hi, this is a bit off topic, but I like to hear more about Attract project management system. We have a somewhat big project coming up and would like to see if this is something we can use. Thanks.

To many noises in the audio.

@Enrique Barranco: Yeah :( there seems to be a faulty cable or connection in the mixer. It's hard to figure out which one with so many mics, but we'll look into it. Sorry for the noise!

Woa! great news that Colin is coming back!. Hey jesperge did some work already for the animation library to get images, maybe you guys can work with him, he's from the netherlands https://vimeo.com/141538252 and he really wants to continue on he just needs a bit of help and direction but there is a lot done there already maybe it serves as a stepping stone. Btw, have you guys already got lined up the devs that start next month?, what is it going to be their focus?, anything on improving viewport speed for 2.78, like multi rig evaluation or having opensubdiv work with materials not just textures? Thanks again for all the good stuff!
