You might have heard of the Blender 2.8 Code Quest. If not, join us for a little recap, plus some fun before-the-launch behind-the-scenes stories. After that, Andy and Julien talk about Spring, until we finally move to an actual podcast theme: "how do you deal with pressure?".

Hi, I have a general question which may or may not be podcast worthy.
As I work my way through various tutorials, I have been trying different fluid-sim techniques that require the use of different Blender branches (eg. Fracture Modifier branch and Mantaflow branch). Is there a recommended workflow to bring the mesh results into the main branch, mainly so my final blend files are compatible with an online rendering service? Or am I stuck in a branch (on a branch?) if I start playing outside the safety of the release version?
I'm still just dabbling so I haven't created a pipeline for myself and I hear you guys talk about having your models, lighting and animation in separate project files which are then linked. Is there a tutorial series I should watch to get my head around this?
Thanks!
@Laurence Yates: Hi! It looks that you were late to get a response from the guys. Try asking in last week's podcast.
About your question, the team at Blender Animation Studio only works with official branches nor custom branches or paid addons.
From my experience, I can tell you that the files with baked physics from the Francture Modifier branch can be opened and then rendered in the official branch.
About Mantaflow, though, I'll say that exporting in Alembic is the best choice there.
@Forgotten Fantasies: Thanks!
In addition to what Nelson asked, it would be great to allow Cloud members to see a project but not to edit. I was thinking about hosting trainings, shorts, etc in the Cloud only for Cloud subscribers.
I think that hosting public or closed projects would be a good idea to bring more people in :)
Any plans for cloud members project blogs? or sharing projects (public view)?
@Nelson Gonçalves: I was about to ask the same!
