It’s been almost one month since the release of Coffee Run! Watching reactions to the film online has been fun, and we already reached over 230k views!
However, Blender Open Movies are never just about the film. The production team has been sharing plenty of content during the production and has put together some great making of material as well. Here is an overview of it.
From early animation and shading tests, all the way to final renders, explore the various content galleries on the project to see the film come together step by step.
Download all the assets and production files, open them with Blender and see for yourself how everything is arranged. Before doing that, make sure you check out the walkthroughs by Andy, Julien and Hjalti. There is over 4 hours worth of in depth content about the creation of Coffee Run.
Andy has created a series of videos on how lighting and compositing was done on Coffee Run.
In his videos, Julien covers the design process, starting from the design principles and shows how they apply to characters and environments.
Finally, Hjalti presents a mix of topics, such as a breakdown of some of the animations in the short, a breakdown of the cityscape rig and the story creation process.
Enjoy all this content, and thank you again to all Blender Cloud subscribers for making this possible!
Respected Mr.Hjalti, Really amazing design, concept, and workflow especially the city rig, and I'm very very thankful to Blender team that you shared all these for exploring. I shall be grateful if you please share something about animating the roll of Hail, from frame 45 to 57 in the blend file coffee_run.Hjalti.blend. Was it straight forward animation in FK bones plus stretching? I think if it was done on IK bones, it will be very difficult to manage pole targets. Is there any tutorial related to that? I am new here, I don't know is this the correct place to ask this; kindly pardon me if I'm wrong.
