Introducing: Project Sharing

Report Problem

A week ago we introduced the possibility, for subscribers, to create Private Projects here on the Blender Cloud. Now you can share your projects with other Cloud subscribers.

To share a project, visit the edit section of the project and click on Sharing. There you will be able to search for the user (by nickname, full name or email) you want to share the project with.

Project Sharing

Once a user is added to the project, they will be able to create and edit all assets of that project. More refined access options (read-only access, public access) will be introduced later.

This is the first of many steps towards making Blender Cloud a true collaboration and production management platform. Coming soon: Texture Library access within Blender!

Please let us know in the comments or at cloudsupport@blender.org if you encounter any problem or if you have any questions!

I like the way we can organize projects, but the fact that only Cloud subscribers can participate on the project is a bad thing. For projects, a guest option would be more than welcome, so someone that will only help as a freelancer, for instance, can help without having to pay for a subscription.

@Dimitri Bastos Thanks for the feedback. I see you also mailed about this. I'll reply to the mail.

I love this !

Will this expand to something similar to Hitrecord.org ? Where you can post your project and put out requests for people to assist and put out assets out there for people to use. Creating job opportunities and experience for artists. but the best part would be that it communicates with blender.

I would love to see a text editor incorporated into the asset types to allow for collaborative writing and sharing of scripts, briefs, and coding, also having a spread sheet editor and standard text editor would be awesome anyway. similar to Google drive,

Having a spread sheet could also be useful, with that a Project Numbering system would be useful like a Prefix you can set to be added to your profile for all your projects (letter + numbers)

Having a built in activity tracker logging to spread sheet that can be sent to the project manager and track your hours spent in different programs if blender is even able to detect what program windows your are selecting. for example ( (project # AIM 10597) 3 hours in Gimp, 2 hours in Krita, 5 hours in blender on 25 april 2016 ) so as long as the file has the right prefix it will log it as part of that project

If I remember correctly there was a blender project management system being developed?

Hope my rambling makes sense.

Would be nice to see when someone started and stopped working on a project each day and how many hours they spend idle during that time. good for tracking productivity if at all possible.
