Introducing the HDRI Library

Report Problem

Today we are happy to announce a new feature of the Blender Cloud: the HDRI Library. With some great contributions from Greg Zaal (hdrihaven.com) and Mathieu Auvray, we are starting up this new collection of high resolution spherical images that will help you to bring lighting and reflections to the next level in your renders.

Blender Cloud Add-on

We have updated the Blender Cloud add-on so you can browse the library directly within Blender.

HDRIs are notoriously large files, so we made sure that when you select one, you download a low-res preview first, and then you can easily change the resolution from the Image Editor or the Node Editor.

Get the latest version of the add-on and enjoy the library!

I'm loving it. The Cloud has become even more awesome. Shader sharing next please ;)

It's worth mentioning that if you don't have your Blender file saved, the addon is not going to download the texture. I presume that if you change the texture's path to a non relative folder (into the addon's preferences), it will work.

Still unable to get the new version to install, Although the Blender Cloud folder appears in my scripts add on folder where my startup files are located, I don't seem to get the Blender ID add on with the the new download.

I've tried removing all traces of both Blender Cloud and Blender ID and attempted to reinstall the older versions but that no longer works either. Although they appear in the User Settings but when I try to enable them I receive a list of error messages.

I'm sure it's a simple solution but I'm at a lost on how to fix it, any suggestions?

@Neil Jenkinson: Please file a ticket at our issue tracker/support system, so that we can handle this properly. Be sure to include the version numbers of the add-ons, Blender, and your OS.

Installation works great (except that I forgot to unzip the file lol). The add-on is really great and works perfectly and light-fast.

How do you carry out a completely clean install? I have/had the old version installed and when I come to install the latest version, even though after several attempts I thought I''d deleted all relevant files connected with the old version I still get the following message.

'Multiple addons with the same name found! likely problem with the script search path. (see console for details)'

Opening the console doesn't give any clue as to the problem, I expect I have to type something at the command prompt but I know nothing about Python Script.

Thanks for your help with this.

@Neil Jenkinson: Please send us an email at cloudsupport@blender.org, so that we can handle this properly. We can then ask you for more details (like which OS you're using) without flooding the comments.

@stareagle: Without more details, it's hard to say what's wrong. Just delete the files from your addon folder (OS-dependent) and it should be OK.

@Dr. Sybren: Hopefully you post the solution to the list though.
