Report Problem

Two new artists are now working in the Blender Animation Studio in Amsterdam.

In October Julien Kaspar started (left). He 's an experienced character modeler, well known for his fantastic gallery on Artstation.

Last Monday the studio's animation department doubled with Pablo Fournier joining us. Pablo worked many years for Illumination Macguff in Paris - check his animation showreel with work he did for feature films.

Both artists will be sharing their work here, including tutorials and making-of videos. And most of all, they will help shaping Blender 2.8 to become a usable and high quality 3D creation environment!

I'm avid film maker who is very new to 3D and Blender and wanted to ask about the Spring project. Totally blown off my feet! ...

I want to render the movie without the girl character and film my daughter who is 5 and a budding actress and place her into the movie , I will use after effect for this as this is what I know how to use, and its only for family and friends viewing nothing more.

I downloaded the project files and tried to render them... errrr its been 2 days non stop and the first frame is still rendering lol so this will take me months ... :S

So... I have a question:

  1. How can i request someone to render the movie clip for me without the girl character? I'm prepared to pay someone please for this. I wanted the clips to be outputted into .avi files where possible without sound so I can add in my own sound.

  2. Once i complete the filming of my daughter which credits will go at the end of the short production?

@Noaddedsaltguy: I am still in the learning phase, but have a pretty good idea of what I want. I am making a rectangular spice can, actual size is about 3"X2" and need to make the top and bottom vertices stand out as rounded, as if the can sits on them. I am on materials right now with 'Blender Guru' .

@Noaddedsaltguy: Happens when pressing space bar? That's the Search Menu where you can look up tools. The left column is the Category, in middle is the tool name, and on the right it's the hotkey, if any.

You can change any shortcut (including space bar for the Search Menu) in Blender from the User Preferences > Input.

New to animation. I have an idea that requires video, animation voice and text. I'd like to keep it simple to start. where do I start. I repeat: I am BRAND NEW to animation, the language, etc. thanks, noaddedsaltguy

@Noaddedsaltguy: learn how the interface works, in Blendercloud go to training. There you can find lots of tutorials. You can learn scripting and so on. You don't have to pay extra for this. Once you get to know the keyboard shortcuts, start simple, its important you understand the principles , after that Blender becomes easier to use. I am a Maya certified animator and just started from scratch with Blender. Happy sculpting.
