Last week on Pet Projects…
Rockets are still in construction, designs are still being made and animators are hungry for more shots... No week is the same but some things do remain!
We've decided to offically extend our schedule to accomodate for the delay and overall complexity. The team aims to finish the project early July, which means we have a bit more time to spend on layout and rigging.
As there aren't a lot of fully animated shots to play with yet, last week Andy and Simon both worked mostly on technical setup, preparing the lighting and compositing stages. This meant digging into the Shot Builder Add-on to adapt it for the lighting on this project. A techy and necessary step to ensure we don't do everything by hand! Still, we managed to get some visual tests to show Rik.
As the weeks have passed, our director has become more comfortable with the juggling involved with his role. Rik is now able to do layout part time, for real, working on some key moments or shots that need more fine tuning than others.
The next two weeks promise to be a bit less productive as part of the team is off for a couple of days, and we are lucky to have a day off on April 27th - King's Day in the Netherlands, a big celebration! Because yes, production logs are not just about work, they're about the overall life of the production - right?
Still, we'll have more updates to share so tune back in in a few days!
Pet Projects is currently in production and the progress can be followed here on the Blender Studio website.
