Last week on Pet Projects…
As our last video production log shows, the Blender Studio team has been hard at work to figure out the production's next steps. A lot of dicussions took place, with both Francesco, Rik and I, Fiona, then with the whole team, and a new schedule is in the works.
Does it mean we stopped making visual wonders? Of course not! Hjalti and Rik have been layouting more shots, and even started incorporating the newly modeled-and-rigged Rocket Interior. Demeter spent a lot of energy to make it possible and pass the ball to Hjalti. Yes, animation is definitely a team sport.
Simon made more tests on this set for shading, as Andy continued on setting up lighting nodes. Lot's of squares and lines between them, I tell you.
Beau has switched to the Rocket Exterior, which is a welcome change of scenery - after two weeks working on the interior of that lovely spacecraft. Vivien was obviously keeping track of his progress, while working on skies and clouds. As simple as they can seem, clouds have been a big question as we want a 2D look but can have big camera movements.
Mack Bo and Pablo were still working on rig testing and a limited number of shots, due to layout and assets bottle necks. This should change soon as this week proved to be quite prolific - or, let's remain humble, efficient.
Pet Projects is currently in production and the progress can be followed here on the Blender Studio website.
