Production Recap July 24th to 28th

Last week on Pet Projects…

We did it!

Right on cue, the Blender Studio finished the movie (or at least the images) and it's almost time to push the release buttons.

The last few days were busy with rendering, lots of rendering. Simon and Andy worked with Rik to add the very final touches. We got to the point where we couldn't even tell what had been changed anymore - that's what you get for having perfectionnists and highly skilled people in the team!

Pablico, Demeter, Beau and Julien had already gone to work on other things. They did come back to Pet Projects to record some behind the scenes for the credits. Also, we started planning for the release of files and assets. It does take a bit of time to make everything 'outside-world' ready.

Now, onto the last back and forth with Mariana for the score, and soon the sound design and mixing work will take over. A bit more patience until the official release!


Pet Projects is now in post-production and the progress can be followed here on the Blender Studio website.

In a few weeks, the Studio will start sharing the progress on Gold, our new Open Movie currently in development - subscribe to follow their work and access more content!

Congratulations.. I'm so looking forward to this.  I also would really like an in depth look on how you all execute these ideas to completion.  I know that the studio was planning on documenting the pipeline applications but it would be nice to get more details on how to operate an open source studio using the tools at Blender Studio.
