In the last month a few things happened: Blender Institute moved to a new home, the Spring team switched to Blender 2.8, and during this this turmoil we tried to keep up with the production.
Here is a snapshot of the production status from last week:
It's incredibly exciting to witness Spring switch to Blender 2.8, and see how artists and developers deal with all the challenges and possibilities. The work both teams are pulling off is outstanding. Here are a couple of links that showcase how some of of the issues mentioned in the video have been handled: the first one is about poor viewport performance and the second is about object duplication.
As usual you can follow the progress of the film in the production folders, where the team regularly uploads their work.
We will be back soon with another update!
I am watching this late (Just got my cloud membership last Friday). Really nice attitude by the team to adapt and prevail against all odds.
How many artists are working in this film currently
@Jeremy Perry: 2 artists (including the director) and 2 animators, 1 Francesco and 1 rigging guy who made the blenrig thing. AS of no
@Andy Goralczyk: This is so awesome. Ive looked at all the logs. Great stuff for 4 people. You guys are busting humps over there. It really inspires me to move forward with my own project. Are you guys planning on working with more people down the line?
