How can I create on my phone
Hello there! What a wonderful rig. As someone who is brand new to Blender, I'm having issues figuring out just how to import Rain into Blender without messing it up. My previous method of simply copying and pasting the objects seems to change the textures. Are there certain files that I need to select when using "Append" to properly import the rig? Thanks for taking the time to answer my newbie question!
Are the facial rig controls, shapekey based or Joint Based?
This is great! I don't see the facial expressions in this rig, but I do see them in the "Rain - File 3: Expression Tests" .blend file. Are the facial expressions in this 220MB rain rig, or if not are there a few simple steps to copy them in from the expression tests .blend file? Thanks!
@klok000 The expression tests were sculpted poses that I used as reference for rigging the face. So there's no one-button way to put those expressions on the rig, you'll just have to pose the face with the rig controls.
YES! I love this style of character. :D
Hi, is it normal that upon import in blender I can't move the character? I'm trying to select an IK handle but it just won't... i can do select all, but not individual parts...
@Corado Doesn't sound too normal. What do you mean by import? You should be able to simply open the .blend file, no importing required (unless you mean drag and dropping the .blend file into blender, which is fine)
Then just make sure you're in pose mode, and you should be able to select and pose the controls. If it's not working, check if other rigs work. If no rigs work, maybe you have unsupported hardware.
Why can't I see the cloudRig menu when I link the rig?
@ramoncm I answer myself. I know how to do it. thanks :) I read the sintel rig intructions.
I think this is a bug: if you disable the stretchy property for the ik legs, the feet deform in an unexpected way when you move the foot control beyond the leg's length.
@edwin hernandez Thank you, it's fixed in the upcoming v2.0!
i think that with 2.82 from viewport we can't select bones. Only from Outliner
@Luca Di Cecca I suspect this might be something to do with the Show Bone X-Ray option. Try turning it on/off and see if it helps.
Will this armature rig be available for skinning other characters?
*@Manish Gautam* I'm working on something like this, but no details just yet.
Edit: CloudRig is now out in the world, and can generate control rigs similar to that of Rain's.
Hi there, nice rig. Seems to be quite performant.
It would be nice to have a rig explanation video though. Those rigs can have quite a lot of functions and it's hard to find out what they do.
For example it took me quite a while to realize that there is a script embedded in the file that you need to execute to get the properties nicely listed, like in the picture. Also I am still not sure if I am supposed to use a proxy, or a library override.
@Christoph Lendenfeld Hi! I will try making a video along with the next version release. The rig should work with both proxy and library override, just keep the pros and cons of each of those in mind. We currently still use proxies since library overrides are still way under construction.
Hey ! cool character, where is the IK-FK snap ?
@Luciano Muñoz Coming in the next version!
Hi guys! this character looks awesome.
I think I've found a bug:
activate Face Extra layers, move the LTC-head_main control, and a vertex of the lip doesn't move with the rest of the head:
it looks like I can't attach pictures here
@edwin hernandez Thank you, good catch, will be fixed in the next version coming soon.
Great! I'll try. Thanks!
Thanks for this! I can't wait to try it out.
Will there be teaching?I'm looking forward to
No way!, soo coool!!! thank you guys!
@Luciano Muñoz hey guys, i tried using it but the neck seems to bend in a really bad way, curved and from a very weird pivot, any chance you guys will revisit this?
Nice. Is this a fully fledged version of this rig, or just an initial upload?
@Adam Yoohasz This is version 1.0, if you have feedback please let us know!
