Spring, the adorable main character of the beautiful movie of the same name! For Blender versions between 2.8 - 3.6. Requires BlenRig add-on of your chosen Blender version for best experience.
If you have run into any problems, let us know in the comments below.
The character is free to use, provided that the you respect the CC-BY license and include the credit: Spring Rig (CC-BY) Blender Foundation | studio.blender.org
The rig doesn't have controllers for the hair... Such an amazing rig, but it's impossible to add secondary movements to the animation since there are no controllers for the hair or the clothes. I've already tried activating all the controllers at once—EVERY SINGLE BOX that separates the controllers—but they still don't show up. The rig doesn't have them.
@Rafael Silva Heya, it should. If you enabled every bone layer and don't see them, try hitting Alt+H to unhide all, while in pose mode?
Hi everybody i am new in here. I just would love to know if Spring's rigg is slow compare to other character such as rain? i just can feel a huge difference when i manipulate it. Probably the blenrig addon is the cause. But i am not sure.
@Alexandre Quintana Hey there. Yeah, Spring is an old rig from before my time, and indeed not as performant. You can try turning on Simplify option in the render settings to limit the subdivisions to 0 in the viewport, but I think they are already set to 0. I think the lag might be caused by Mesh Deform modifiers, which is used as the primary deformation method, I don't think it's a BlenRig issue.
@Demeter Dzadik Thank you. Yes i am exploring rigg to and try to start from scratch. Thank you dude.
awesome character! how do you get hair texture, just swap out the material? does included hair need cycles?
@kevin IIRC there is a custom property on a settings bone to toggle to particle hair, which uses the old hair particle system (pre-geonodes). And yes, this character is mainly made for Cycles, although may work okay in Eevee.

@ENRIQUE BARBERO BARBERO Hi, I'd recommend checking out the Blender Fundamentals tutorial series on youtube: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLa1F2ddGya_-UvuAqHAksYnB0qL9yWDO6
is there a tutorial on modelling of Spring?
Hi! I'm trying to link the file with my blender to wotk with it. But when I try to do the first step it says its not a library. Am i linking the wrong thing or...? And tbh I'm not quite sure how to enable Instance Collections. Appreciate your work!! Thanks
@Farah Diab Harake Alright I got it haha. I was moving too fast oops
@Farah Diab Harake But now I have another problem. When I go to the rendered view in Cycles the hair doesn't show up anymore. I'm on Blender 3.5. Is that a problem?
@Farah Diab Harake A mistake on my end, it seems! Thanks for the report, try re-downloading the file, it should be fixed now. The hair proxy objects had all their Cycles ray visibilities turned off, I'm not too sure why.
@Farah Diab Harake hola como lo hiciste, yo no lo entiendo
