This week I worked on the spray effect of 030_enter and the ground outside the hut in the exterior shots among other things.
Last week I worked on the overall shading of the hut set and assets of the scrapyard. Other than that I started going back to working on the battery explosions to change their look to be more electrical and refined.
I spent the majority of last week on finishing the shading of Einar. There were still a lot of details to be added, like seams in the clothing, damage and dirt.
This week I went through numerous shots to improve the lighting. I also worked on the factory set: The entrance door got more detailed and we decided to put in a large bullet impact hit when the security robot attacks Einar.
I spent most of my time this week with doing the final shading pass on Huginn, adding detail in necessary places, adjusting the surfaces to make them work in all the shots and bring back more appeal. Other than that I went back to Einar and started working on finalizing him. That will happen more next week.
This week I worked on lighting continuity updates for the fight sequence as well as modeling additions to the factory. I also created an initial logo design for the end credits.
In preparation for the screening of the WIP movie at the Blender Conference I spent a lot of time together with Andy and Clément to make sure that we could render every shot with little to no glitches (which was a challenge). Other than that there were many surfaces still to get a first/more detailed pass, so I went through a lot of those. Otherwise I focused on the progression of the distress stages of Einar.
In the past few weeks I've been working together with Simon to get the movie ready for the screening at Blender Conference 2022. This involved polishing lighting, adding smoke, fire and compositing effects.
