Blender 2.8 features a brand new 2D drawing and animation toolset. Become proficient with Grease Pencil thanks to this course by Matias Mendiola, story artist and Grease Pencil team member.
Grease Pencil 2.9 is amazing...
Can i use Grease Pencil in Texturing, Texture Painting?
Thank you, Matias. This is a very well done series. My 9 year old who has hardly used Blender at all was able to follow along. The only issue she ran into was getting the onion skinning working. I'm not sure how she did it, but she had onion skinning turned off for all of her materials.
Thank you *@Dan Pool*! and nice catch, was actually a bug that is already fixed today in the main code
just subscribed + about to start the series. excited to learn about GP!
Thank you so much for this series. Great introduction. Would have liked to see some mention of basic audio with lip syncing, blend modes and text. Really enjoy the style of presentation.
hi, this is an awesome course! loved it! I have only one question: When you make a new file as 2d animation file, is it possible to convert this back into a general one? because I started a 2d animation file and couldn't find the text tools in it... I don't want to start from the beginning, just because I choosed the wrong format in the start... but i was wondering in general, if this is just a UI thing and if it is possible with a hack to switch between them...
Thank you *@platz.stephanie* and of course, you can add the workspaces you want to the "2D Animation" template, or you can also open the file without loading the UI to keep your actual template.
Would be nice if you also share the .blend files.
*@Ricardo Figueira* I've just uploaded the .blend files https://cloud.blender.org/p/grease-pencil-fundamentals/5c4a085d79f30a1757f5f5ad
Many thanks !! *@Matias Mendiola*
Thank you,
Thanks Matias, I'll watching this right away!
Thank you for this overview and fundamentals series. GP is so powerful in 2.8 but for those like me that are not experienced in 2D animation tools, video series such as this help show what can be done. I am hoping in the future there will be even more GP series which will go through each step of a full project.
*@Duane Baldish* This is actually just the first part! That's why it's called Fundamentals. There is more training planned, targeted at advanced use of Grease Pencil together with other areas of Blender.
*@Pablo Vázquez* Now it's time to continue the course!
*@Pablo Vázquez* HI, Pablo any time soon ?
*@Pablo Vázquez* Hi, Any idea when the next advance course will be?
*@Pablo Vázquez* Yep, I got it. You mentioned on blender today, or as I like to call it, blendcast. I look forward to the more advanced use training. Cheers.
