In this video I explain how to sculpt any repeating patterns in a time efficient way.
Hi, maybe you addressed it somewhere, at some point, sorry if I ask you to repeat. What do you use to get the silhouette mode in your camera view?
*@Andre Michaud* I built my own menus with the Pie Menu Editor Addon for Blender. But what I am essentially doing is to set the lighting to flat and the color to single-black in the viewport shading options.
The viewport is pretty customizable with all of those options in the header :)
Great ! I cannot do better ! I've try to do the same for an exercise, but without much success ! Congratulations !!!!!
Question; not sure if I missed this or you'll address it later, but in the final 'render' on a lot of your sculpts you seem to have this clay texture on the entire model; these tiny little marks / notches / scrapes that really make it feel like clay. Is this some kind of texture you just overlay with object / generated mapping or is it actual geometry you displace using a texture brush? If so, doesn't the polycount get pretty crazy for detail that fine?
Thanks!
*@NumberNine* They are a couple b/w textures used as a a bump map. I couldn't share them in the files unfortunately since they weren't open source. Sculpting them into the model would make the resolution insane for no real reason, so bump maps can be very helpful.
ooh! Didn't knew about the ctrl+m to hide the mask preview, definitely using this next time!
loved how this snake came out btw, noticing a lot sculpting tricks you use regularly :)
I seems to have a problem when sculpting and i need to use dyntopo, it makes my sculpt looks funny, my sculpting in blender is limited as at now. Please how is the best way to use dyntopo. Thanks!!!
*@quadrihossein.qh* Dynamic Topology remeshes your surfaces while you are sculpting, which can seem odd sometimes. I recommend to switch to flat shading (In the Right click menu) to see your geometry better and how dynamic topology s affecting it.
I don't have a video yet that's explaining how to manage dyntopo best so I recommend to search on YouTube for a beginners tutorial on dyntopo to get a better sense of how it works.
I did upload a video on general sculpting fundamentals but it doesn't go deep into dyntopo. I do go over the settings though, so maybe check it out. Near the end I talk about dyntopo: https://cloud.blender.org/p/stylized-character-workflow/5d5e6141b01c790d39b7ed4e
*@Julien Kaspar* Thanks alot i'll do just that.
