Object Mode
the Grease Pencil interface is significantly different in some places now (Feb 2020) and some important functions seem to have disappeared - or else been moved so that they are not obvious.
*@Julian Darley* I agree, had the same problem, but if you just go over the changed buttons, you'll find the same stuff he's talking about under the new ones
uh huh, is there a text subtitle / CC? Thank You!
When I activate the canvas on a grease pencil object, the grid seems fixed to the perspective view, unlike the example video where the canvas remains fixed in orientation to the world. Could be a newbie error but I'd appreciate an insight.
*@Nigel Haslam* In draw mode you can lock your drawing plane to either 'view' (default, which rotates with the view) or to various different axis. The setting is in the middle of the header above the active drawing area.
*@Katja Louhio* Thanks, had the same question!
*@Katja Louhio* Thanks heaps Katja.. that's been bugging me and now I'm able to do what I've been wanting.

*@Azura DelaRochelle* Same problem here in 2.8 Release Candidate.. no pencil icon visible there for me (on Mac OS)
*@Nigel Haslam* I have too some difficulties because of some differences between this previous release and this one (2.8).
*@Azura DelaRochelle* Hi, it's now turned into a new 'green twisted line' button above the 'material properties' button
http://zupimages.net/viewer.php?id=19/28/af7v.png How to obtain what is it in this image on the program Blender ?
*@Azura DelaRochelle* It's default in Blender 2.80, which you can download from blender.org
*@Matthew Makra* Yes... but with which button? (I know it's in default in Blender 2.80. :)
*@Azura DelaRochelle* Since you highlighted the "Layout" tab there, I assume you mean if there's is a shortcut to switch to that tab and as far as I know, there isn't. Your only way to open a tab is to click it.
