Last week on Pet Projects…
Apart from some staging and design conundrums, Rik and Hjalti worked on the edit, trying out different beginnings and timings. Some shots made it to the current version, others will join the bucket of "funny but for bloopers only"... The edit is now very close to being done, which will allow Hjalti to focus next on previs and layout.
Regarding characters, there was some more back and forth on the cat’s nose design and the expressions possible with it - Pablo, Vivien and Julien all brainstormed to make it work. Demeter also joined this conversation, while working on some of Pablo’s feedback on the rig. But, when will the characters have facial rig though, ask the animators?
After a few days (or was it weeks?) away from the project to focus on hair curves, Simon rejoined the team to start the shading task, with the dog. One more step in the right direction!
