You said something along the lines of: "splitting the leaves back into original objects took forever and didn't work out." Why was splitting them a problem? Shouldn't have hitting "p" and choosing "separate by loose parts" have done it in no time, or am I missing the point?

@rapppc: well yeah, that's what I did. But Blender ended up freezing for an hour and then I just killed it because I didn't want to wait that long. Next time I know! :)
