CloudRig implements its own Component Types, which are the equivalent of what in Rigify was known extremely confusingly as "rig types". Each are identified by their name, which in these videos is quite outdated, but on more modern versions of CloudRig should be a bit more artist-friendly.
Today, to mark an armature as a CloudRig metarig, you can simply enable the CloudRig checkbox, rather than doing it implicitly by assigning a component type to a bone, as done in this video.
