Here we will continue with our modeling of the hat and scarf. We will be learning a little about how to separate selected vertices from an object to form a new object, along with other tools.
6:50 -> I don't understand why when I rotate the hat, the head rotate also a little bit on my side, while on the video it does not make any movement, just the hat rotate. I have however hit the "p" to separate the circle at the begin of the hat making... Any idea ?
@Guy Capra: Is it a separate object? If it a separate object and you have only one object selected it should work.
@all : hurra! I have found the problem : proportional editing [random] was always ON because I had used it to make the scarf (I made it with a torus and random "G" on vertices in one pass to be quick). So when I rotated the hat, the head moved a bit less, and this made me crazy before I can find my own mistake forgetting this proportional object editing tool in action !
@Stephen Petersen: Yes it was well separated (with "p" as shown) anyway thank you very much for your answer ! In the mean time I have found the solution, please see below :)
I cannot add the solidify modifier to the scarf for some reason, what must I do?
Hi, What is the function of "LEFT_BRACKET" and " EVT_TWEAK L "?
@arayabarrioseduardo: https://blenderartists.org/forum/showthread.php?353785-What-is-EVT_TWEAK_R and the LEFT BRACKET i never used but will now, I had a look in the user preferences section and INPUT and found it is Select Right, so blender will select the next thing to the Right of what is currently selected. Can be very handy.
Hello, I have a problem with the scarf, when you have to copy (Shif + D) and then press E, when it is ready, the scarf is transparent on one side. What should I do?
@arayabarrioseduardo: still transparent after the solidifier? Transparency can be caused because of shading setting having the backface culling settings on, but transparency should disapear (hmmm) once solidify modifier is added.
@Stefan59: Oh! you are right. I added the solidify modifier and the transparency disappear. Thanks you.
Thanks for the great tutorial
