Very clear explanations. You have made the whole rigging proces so understandable . I have watched a couple of eye rigging and leg rigging tutorials, but this is absolutely the best. GREAT !

In Blender 2.8 the X-Axis Mirror checkbox has moved. When in the armature's edit mode, open the sidebar on the right of the 3D Viewport (by default, hit the N key). Select the Tool tab. X-Axis Mirror is under Options.

In Blender 2.8, Armature Pose mode has an X-Axis Mirror option. This is set similarly to the Edit mode option. When in Pose mode, go to Sidebar/Tool/Option and check the option. Note that the mirror option is set in each mode independently; that is, turning it on when you edited the armature does not affect the setting when you are posing.
Note that is affect poses only. It does not create IK constraints on both sides as you add them.

I get an error "Failed to set value" when I try to apply the copy rotation and damped track constraints. Blender throws this error when I try to choose the target as "Armature" and before I get to the bone selection. I am in pose mode and have cleared the parenting to prevent any accidental infinite loop. I am using 2.92
I really like this series and would hate to have to abandon this rig so close to the end. Please advise!

@David R Carr Hey there. I can try to help, can you give some more info? At what point are you in the video? It's from 6 years ago and the original author isn't around to read your comment so I need some context to help you figure this out :D I've never seen this error when trying to select a target for a constraint though. Are you using the drop-down list to select the Armature object or are you trying to use the object picker? I would recommend doing the former. If you could host your file somewhere and link to it, that would be even better! ^^

Thank you, Francesco. This has been the smoothest tutorial series I've ever learned from. You predict the mind of the student and adjust the tutorial accordingly. I agree with the LJ Vis from four years ago: GREAT !

Can someone point me to instructions on how to transform or offset the custom bone shapes? My custom shape for the feet are hovering whereas in the video, it seems like it's level with the root bone.

I'm learning a lot, thank you very much. And the only problem I've had so far with blender 3.0 is the "CTRL + shift + C" key combination. It only works for me with bones. https://www.artstation.com/artwork/eJl6YJ

Thank you for this amazing course! I've been looking for a grounds up principles-based course, and I'm learning so much. Excited to keep going!
