Taking a look at the fill brush, gradients and issues with painting in the orthographic view.
i couldnt gradient paint the cord but in ur video u did somehow and ur asset files its also not painted like mine but i do not know why
Hi! I'm trying to use the fill tool in Blender 2.79 but it seems to be completely broken. It generates artifacts everywhere. I've tried using different settings, orto view, and nothing seems to work. Some ideas? :(
@dacanizares: This is broken in 2.78-2.79b https://developer.blender.org/T50831 :(
First, I was able to get the snap to work with just the "alt" key.
Second, every time I try to add a gradient to the camera, the camera lens is replaced with a black image with splash of gray at the top area next to the mirror edge. Interesting to see that the gray doesn't appear in the mirror side of the camera image.
Looking at the other images I noticed that the Normal Camera image has the left side of the image set to a white image. I don't know why this is happening as I am following the tutorial as precisely as I can.
I'm stuck now in the tutorial as I don't know if something is broken in my model or if blender is performing erratically. I did have to skip the "mirror artifact repair" in the cone mesh as I described in the last chapter.
I could really use some help. If anyone can provide a solution, it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
I've tried several different ways to
@drbtech: Thanks for the heads up on the hotkey change, i've edited my comment to reflect that update. :)
Regarding your problem, yes that does sound a little strange, can you upload the blend file anywhere you like and give me a link, i'll take a look! :) Make sure to go File > External Data > Pack all into .blend file, that way i should get it exactly as you have it. :)
Aidy.
@Aidy_Burrows: I think I may have found the issue or at least forced Blender to reset certain image aspects. Let me start by saying that I am using a MAC Book Pro with no number pad. I have emulated the num pad and set the mouse to be a left click select setting in the user preferences. I cannot select any objects in texture paint mode and a right click just moves the 3D cursor. I have to set the mode to Object Mode to select the different objects on my mesh then go back to texture paint mode. To prevent the lens portion of the camera from having a weird gradient "wedge" in the mirror side of the lens, I had to actually set the UV Map setting to UVMap on the slots tab of the tools window after making sure that the ConeMaterial selection was selected in the Materials selection. I also noticed that the camera lens image in the camera doesn't go blank like it appears to in your tutorial video but still looks like the camera lens. I haven't included the Blender file as I think it might be unnecessary now but if you still want to look at it, just let me know. Again, thanks for the help.
@drbtech: Hi! I think you maybe able to upload it to the blender cloud, another option could be to use wetransfer (https://wetransfer.com/) that will be a temporary link for a week or so I believe (in the 'email to' field just put your own email and then you'll be sent the download link). Or perhaps google drive. Hope that helps! :) Aidy.
@Aidy_Burrows: Do you have a suggestion as to a free site that is secure and will allow me to upload the render file that you can access?
Please note the shortcut key for the angle snapping of the edge stroke is now Alt! :) Aidy.
