When I hold down the control key and paint a line, I don't get any snapping behaviour. Is there something I need to turn on somewhere to make this happen? I'm using blender 2.78.
@nick.sandow: Good question! I believe this has changed to ctrl and Alt together to get the angle restriction of a line stroke!

For whatever reason my TexDraw brush doesn't draw anymore. No clue what is wrong, I have really toggled different things on and off, created a new material slot, tried it there. Nothing. Around 2 hours later.. no change .. this is extremely frustrating...
Any ideas why the brush is no more working?
Not sure what was wrong, but somehow the brush is painting again.
@ShadowGames: Very pleased to hear that you got through the problem, i haven't encountered that problem myself, but a blender or even computer restart can sometimes help for sure! :) Aidy.
@marcel.fitzner: It could be a memory issue, next time try restarting blender to see if it fixes that.
