In this video I'll explain the importance of aligning objects to world orientation, particularly the eyes.
Would this advice on aligning the model to the world axes apply for an anthropomorphic animal character ? For instance: Should the top of the muzzle be aligned horizontally by raising/lowering the head ?
@Romain Clement generally it's not a must, because you don't want to intervene the initial design of a character. So don't force it into world orientation, but if it's slightly off, its easier to align it to world, resulting in clean transformations for rigging and animation. Hope that helps!
@Romain Clement I ran into this with an anime type character I was working on a few days ago. So. The center should be the exact center line. There's a lot not mentioned with your character. Quadriped or standing talking animal. The rigging part is better when there's balance between x to 0 to -x. So. Orienting the character to the exact center then treat the muzzle like a long nose. Then, doing the Set origin - World origin.
